Joe Walks On Water

It is not common for lakes to freeze in Ireland. Joe mentioned yesterday that once in the 1940's one lake froze enough so that cars could drive across it. He was amazed that it is a common winter occurrence for lakes to freeze in Minnesota.

Joe and I are standing on Medicine Lake which is two blocks from my home.

If you have time and Joe is interested in learning more about the history of the area, I highly recommend the Mill City Museum in Minneapolis. The exhibits are great (don't miss the baking lab!) and the "Flour Tour" is definitely a highlight, we fantastic views of the Mississippi from the balcony at the top. They even have a film called "Minneapolis in 19 Minutes Flat" where you can get the entire history of the city boiled down to less than the time it takes to down a plate of lutefisk (well, for me that wouldn't be hard, since that time would approximately forever!)

Looking forward to meeting Joe and seeing you all on Saturday.

Oops, I meant "flour tower" not "flour tour".
