Sharing and Shaving...or...Sharing the Shaving

Sunday was Mother's Day. Sarah has been at my house, since the Friday before, when she had her second chemo treatment. Dave and the boys came to visit and we were able to get a few pictures that make it clear why Sarah is doing chemo.

Her cancer was removed when she had her bilateral mastectomy, but with a 19% chance of recurrence, there was never a doubt but that she would do chemo.

Davey (6), Derek (5) and Jackson (22 months) make it worth whatever Sarah has to go through to assure them she is going to be around a long time. And, Dave is behind that 100 %. It is a life event, cancer and chemo, that has altered all our lives every minute of the day and night.

Below are some pictures and a video from the last few days.

Ah, this is how picture taking usually goes : )

Sarah shaving her head yesterday...she woke up and the little bit of hair remaining had started to hurt....so off it came

Sarah with Jackson yesterday...the kids don't even seem to notice anymore
And, here is a little video of Sarah shaving her head

Welcome to my world everyone! I mean that with pride and gratitude and true appreciation !

Hi Judy- Thank you for the Blog...

Sarah is a brave girl--and she still has that million dollar smile--just like her Mom.

She is very lucky in many ways--

a great husband
3 darling boys--
and the support of a loving mother & father--

and I bet she realizes that everyday. I wish you & Tom strength throughout this great ordeal- but your love for Sarah and her family -will eventually get you all to the happy side of life.

Hugs Betsy

Hi Judy and Sarah:

PLEASE know I have kept Sarah,Dave, the adorable boys and your entire family up in prayer daily!

It has been quite the journey for everyone and NOT an easy one.

Thank God you all believe and have a faith base.

At time like this, that is what keeps you going.

Sarah looks GREAT w/o hair.

What a nice shaped head she has and no hair shows off her beautiful face.

The Roller Coaster ride does have its ups, downs, jerks, & then smooth sailing.

Just as it starts, you anticipate getting at the top of the hill, hanging on tight.

Adrenalin pumping w/anticipation.

Up, Up we go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then we lift our hands up as high as we can, take a deep breath...

and down we go yelling, smiling and taking deep breaths.

Then we sigh at the end of the ride saying, "We made it, we got through it,

Let's do it again!"

I pray for smoother rides.

YOUR entire family is beyond beautiful.

Glad Sarah can take some time to just "Be".

I love you ALL so much and pray for more good news!

LOVE YOU ALL!

Cathy B.
