Happy Birthday Sarah!

I am such a lucky girl...

As I was getting ready for my day the phone rang. It was about 8:30 a.m. It was Davey, my five year old grandson, who absolutely and totally loves parties. Davey loves parties of any kind. And, today is his mom's birthday who just happens to be my first born daughter.

No time was wasted. The party began with the boys, Davey and Derek (3), bringing Sarah breakfast in bed which included a can of Fresca, which the boys got to share with her. She also got a musical button which plays some kind of A B C song that she thinks is a Michael Jackson song. I must mention the boys love to play the button. They can start and stop it at will. Davey played it for me over the phone. I don't think it has a volume button. It was still plenty loud even when I held the phone far far away. Jackson (8 months) was in the background making wonderful and constant sounds as he rolled around the floor. He is making a new noise now. He has figured out how to put his tongue on the roof of his mouth and make what I call the trilling sound. Over and over he trilled. How sweet it all was. And, I got to be a part of it!

My funny thought as we hung up was this...........

When Sarah was born she was 5 lb. 1 oz. She is 5 ft. 1 inch tall.

Does this mean that because Kara was 5 lb. 8 oz. at birth she will be 5 ft. 8 inches tall when she grows up?

And, because Adam was 6 lb. 9 oz. at birth that he will be 6 ft. 9 inches tall when he grows up?

Think about it!

Sometimes I wonder about me. Not always. I know one thing is true. I am a very lucky girl!

Happy Birthday Sarah! I love you! xoxoxo

It Made Me Feel Good

I went to Kohl's Department Store today in search of a pair of black jeans to take to Ireland. I think I must have tried on at least 15 pairs of jeans to absolutely NO avail. So, I abandoned my search for jeans and scoured the sales racks for sweaters, of which I am in dire need! Dire!! I hope you are laughing.

It is not as if I have nothing to wear in my closet. But, I don't have enough sweaters. I am lucky to have enough pants to wear that I can say I like enough and feel comfortable enough wearing. Girls, I know you know what I mean!

Well, as I was trying on some of the sweaters I chose, I stepped out of my dressing room to look at myself in the three-way mirror. At the same time another very nice lady stepped outside her dressing room and was headed out of the dressing room.

She stopped. She looked at me. She said, "That color looks really nice on you!" I said, "Thank you!" And, I smiled because it made me feel good on a really discouraging shopping day. She turned and was going on her way and then she stopped and turned around. She looked at me and kept looking at me and she smiled. And, then she said, "That looks really, really nice on you. It looks really nice on you!" And, she kept smiling and turned around, and left the dressing room area and me with a very happy feeling.

I wonder if she knows she was an angel in my life today.
